At Crossland & Bodie Dental , we’re not just a dental practice, we’re a family, deeply rooted in the heart of Charleston. What began with Dr. Steve Crossland, a Navy veteran, wasn’t just about teeth, it was about creating a place where people felt genuinely cared for.
His vision was simple: treat patients like family, not numbers. And from that vision grew a story of connection, loyalty, and community that has spanned generations.
Dr. Crossland’s dream was always bigger than just running a practice. He wanted to build a place where faith, family, and integrity were at the core of everything.
It was never just about dentistry, it was about earning trust, creating bonds, and being there for patients in a way that felt personal. And for over 30 years, that’s exactly what’s happened.
BODIE FAMILY
CROSSLAND FAMILY
At Crossland & Bodie Dental, we’re more than a dental office, we’re family, deeply rooted in Charleston. Dr. Steve Crossland, a Navy veteran, founded the practice with a simple yet meaningful vision: treat every patient like family. That vision has blossomed into a legacy of trust, connection, and care that spans generations.
What began as Dr. Crossland’s solo mission grew into a true family story. Dixie Bodie, one of his dedicated dental assistants for over 20 years, brought her son, Dr. David Bodie, into the fold. Once a patient himself, David became a dentist and eventually a partner, carrying forward the tradition of compassionate care.
Dr. Crossland’s son, Dr. Nick Crossland, followed in his father’s footsteps, serving as a Navy dentist before joining the practice as a partner in 2023. Together, this team has built a generational legacy grounded in faith, family, and integrity.
For over 30 years, we’ve had the honor of caring for Charleston’s families, grandparents, parents, and children alike—with the same trusted, familiar team. At Crossland & Bodie, it’s never just about dentistry, it’s about building lifelong relationships and making every patient feel like part of the family.
Faith. Family. Freedom. Dentistry.
I built this practice on those values over 30 years ago—and they still guide us today.
I’m proud to work with my son Nick and our partner David at Crossland Dentistry. We’re locally owned, with no corporate ties—just honest, relationship-driven care.
Most of our team has been with us for decades, and I’ve had the privilege of treating generations of families. It’s the greatest joy of my career.
I’m a SC native, Navy Dental Corps vet, and Furman + MUSC grad. Outside the office, I’m all about my grandkids, the water, and earning the title of world’s best Pop-Pop.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the Crossland family.
